Meet the Team
Jan Girard, President
Jan is a Columbus Ohio native and graduated from The Ohio State University with a degree in Elementary Education. She taught sixth grade for four years, but resigned her position after she and her husband, Mark, started their family. One year later, in 1978, Jan and Mark founded McKee Door Sales of Columbus, Inc. From a small office located in the basement of their home, she handled all phone calls, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. Jan continues to handle the accounts payable, but now puts her focus on managing office operations, human resources, benefits, safety, and compliance issues for the company.
Jan states, “I feel very fortunate to have started a very small company which now provides for all four of our family members, as well as all of our staff and their families. With hard work, dedication, high expectations, and an open-mind to new ideas and technology; we have proved to our customers that we can provide great products at a great value.”
Mark Girard, Senior Vice President
Mark is a native of Columbus Ohio and after high school completed the Carpenter’s Apprenticeship program to become a Journeyman Carpenter. Mark spent several years doing general carpentry work before his assignment installing commercial overhead doors. In 1978, he spotted an ad in the local paper seeking a distributor for overhead doors which were manufactured in Illinois. After meeting with the manufacturer’s top executives, he was awarded the distributorship for the Columbus Ohio market. Starting with one truck, one trailer, a small warehouse space, and one additional installer; Mark was able to build a clientele based on quality products and quality workmanship. Eight years later, in 1986, Mark supervised and participated in the construction of a new building for the business. His role then changed to handling the sales and estimating while hiring others to perform the installations.
Mark states, “My mission has always been to provide quality products and quality workmanship allowing our customers to have confidence in us to get the job done in the best manner possible. No job is too big or too challenging for our staff.”
Brian Girard, Vice President of Operations
Brian grew up around the door business and always enjoyed being on a job site with his father. He earned his degree in Construction Management from The Ohio State University and, after an internship with a local general contractor; he joined McKee Door Sales on a full-time basis. Brian brings energy, new ideas, and skills to keep the business competitive, efficient, and growing. He helps with the operations side of the business doing estimating, sales, ordering, and scheduling.
Brian states, “It was always my desire to join the family business. I take much pride in the fact that we are family owned and how much we have grown over the years.”
Matt Girard, Vice President of Commercial Products
Growing up around the business, Matt has been directly and indirectly involved with McKee Door Sales for much of his life. During high school and after graduating from Capital University, he worked in the field in various capacities. As a laborer Matt fulfilled whatever duties were required to complete the project. After several years, he rejoined McKee Door Sales in 2002 assisting in the office with various aspects of the business. Now the Vice President of Commercial Products, Matt has been heavily involved in corporate branding efforts, internal and external marketing, as well as strategic planning and business development activities.
In his own words: "I think our perspective and expectation for the services that we provide are unique in the industry. We believe that people are not just hiring us to install overhead doors and loading dock equipment-clients trust us to recommend the best equipment for their needs and application. That means being more than a cog in the design and construction process. It means developing solutions before challenges become problems, identifying cost centers before construction and developing cost effective alternatives that preserve our clients' budgets. That's the leadership and value we deliver to our clients."
Glenn Martin, Controller
Martin’s leadership, keen financial acumen, and personal attention will provide McKee’s organization with the information we need to make critical decisions about our organization. He will ensure that with the growth of McKee we are reporting clearly, concisely, and transparently convey how we're spending our money.
Glenn brings a hands-on-approach to McKee. Martin is highly respected in the finance sector, and in his role as the Controller he will have a great impact on creating value for McKee’s business operations. Glenn Martin will report directly to Matt Girard; Vice President of Commercial Products.
"There are so many moving parts required to being a specialty solutions subcontractor, but that doesn't mean understanding how or where money is being spent should be a mystery. Honest, transparent accounting is a key factor in continuing McKee’s trusting relationships that we have with employees, clients, and vendors. That means everything related to our business is clearly tracked and accounted for in our financial reports,” said Matt Girard.

Graf and his family have been pioneers of the overhead door industry in Ohio dating back to 1921. With his new responsibilities at McKee, Jack has been charged to grow new strategic commercial customer accounts and partner relationships that tactically meld with McKee’s core business objectives.
“Jack brings to McKee 35 + years of sales, marketing, and supply chain expertise in the overhead door and material handling industry,” Matt Girard, Vice President of McKee, said in a press release. “We are very excited for the future prospects and pleased Jack has joined us, and know that his entrepreneurial experience and hands-on skills will complement and serve to strengthen our McKee brand. Jack shares our core values for commitment to quality, value, and service. Jack enjoys flying single engine planes, The Ohio State Buckeyes, and spending time with his family.
